Eric Chavez ready to be more assertive in 2nd year with Arizona Diamondbacks

Eric Chavez believes leadership is something that has to happen organically, and as much as he would have liked to have stepped in and taken charge last season, it wasn't something he was comfortable doing in his first year with a new team. But now that the Diamondbacks veteran third baseman knows his teammates and the organization and they know him, he figures this year should be different.
