Since overhauling his pitching mechanics following the 2010 season, Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy has been trying to redevelop a change-up. The change-up used to be a pitch the 30-year-old had confidence in. He threw it 12.6 percent of the time before signing with the Oakland Athletics prior to the 2011 season. Since rebuilding his delivery, that number has dropped to 1.4 percent.
