Pitching coach Mike Harkey and reliever Addison Reed are both new to the Diamondbacks in 2014, but are already quite familiar with each other. They've occupied opposing dugouts in the American League, Reed as closer for the Chicago White Sox and Harkey as a coach with the New York Yankees. When Reed was acquired in exchange for third baseman Matt Davidson this winter, the two realized they lived close to each other in California.
