Through peaks and valleys, Americans' time in Sochi nothing short of success

SOCHI, Russia - The 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics will be known forever as the Games of the stray dogs and missing shower curtains, Vladimir Putin and Russian homophobia, questionable figure-skating judging and ugly Norwegian curling pants. For Team USA, the legacy of Sochi lies with an 18-year-old who learned to ski in her parents' Colorado driveway, came to Russia with unbridled confidence and poise and picked up the U.S. Olympic torch dropped by so many more-experienced and decorated athletes.
