New security measures and zero waste will greet visitors at the 2014 Waste Management Phoenix Open, which gets under way Monday. On the zero-waste front, the title sponsor, Waste Management, is planning to ship nothing to landfills. Every piece of trash generated at the week-long tournament in Scottsdale will go to recycling, composting and, if nowhere else, energy generation, officials say.
