The Diamondbacks made a surprise addition to their bullpen on Friday, agreeing to terms with left-handed reliever Oliver Perez on a two-year deal, according to multiple media reports. Perez is coming off a successful two-year stint with the Seattle Mariners, with whom he reinvented himself as a reliever. After posting a 2.12 ERA in 29 2/3 innings in 2012, Perez last season had a 3.74 ERA in 53 innings, striking out 74 batters.
