Ron Roenicke hit the ground running as a major-league manager, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 96-66 record in 2011. That represented the most wins in franchise history, gave the Brewers their first division title in 29 years and made Roenicke the team's only manager to make the playoffs while managing the club for a full season. The Brewers defeated the Diamondbacks in the National League Division Series before being eliminated by the St. Louis Cardinals in the League Championship Series.
