Last spring, Randall Delgado was mired in a three-way battle with Patrick Corbin and Tyler Skaggs for the fifth spot in the rotation. Corbin won that battle -- and went on to be the Diamondbacks' best pitcher in 2013 -- but due to injuries, Delgado was a rotation mainstay from June through September, posting a 4.17 ERA in 19 starts. He started hot, with a 2.61 ERA in his first eight starts, but faltered down the stretch, with a 5.46 mark over the final two months.
