Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Brad Ziegler juggles bullpen role, union duties

As far as sports go, baseball's 162-game season is as grueling as it comes. Throw in a demanding, uncompensated union position and it's a wonder Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt was so eager to pry Brad Ziegler's team representative MLB Players Association position away from him. But Ziegler wasn't passing down his duties to relieve stress. If anything, he's welcoming more of it as one of about 40 full-time, volunteer members of the MLBPA's executive subcommittee.
