St. Mary's girls basketball team starts over as dominance disappears

Imagine taking a sports car to a chop shop and watching as, piece by piece, the beautiful high-end machine is stripped down until it's barely recognizable -- nothing more than a pile of spare parts. That's a reasonable metaphor for what happened to the Phoenix St. Mary's girls basketball team this past off-season. After winning three consecutive state championships and consistently being ranked among the top teams in the nation, the dismantling began.
