Unheralded '63 ASU football team was 1 of the Sun Devils' 'greatest'

By 1963, Frank Kush already was a big wheel at Arizona State. Going into his sixth season, the 34-year-old Kush had 38 wins, 11 more than any previous football coach in school history. He was successfully transitioning the program from the Border Conference to the Western Athletic Conference and was important enough for one of the world's more-bankable box-office stars, Jerry Lewis, to show up at practice the previous fall while filming "The Nutty Professor" in Tempe.
