Diamondbacks on verge of hiring pitching coach Dave Duncan as special assistant

The Diamondbacks are on the verge of hiring longtime pitching coach Dave Duncan as a special assistant. Duncan, whose hiring was first reported by Arizona Sports 620, was initially sought out for the Diamondbacks' pitching coach vacancy . Duncan, however, told the Diamondbacks he wasn't ready to return to coaching full-time.
