ASU football has been missing the big play

After the Sun Devils put up their two lowest yardage and points totals of the season against Utah and Oregon State, offensive coordinator Mike Norvell knew what's been missing -- the big play. ASU averaged just 4.33 yards a play in those two games, well under its season average of 5.93. Against the Beavers, ASU hit on three plays of 20-plus yards in the first half, but quarterback Taylor Kelly also threw a pair of interceptions on deep balls. The Sun Devils managed just one such big play in the second half, a 21-yard pass from Kelly to receiver Kevin Ozier.
