Phoenix Coyotes hope to fix problem areas as playoff push looms

The most important measure of their success -- whether they're in the playoffs -- suggests the Coyotes are in good shape at the midway point of the season as they reached that milepost in the eighth and final seed in the Western Conference. But perhaps an impressive start has buoyed the Coyotes and kept them clinging to a playoff position because trouble spots have popped up in their play over the last month.
