New ASU Vice President for Athletics Ray Anderson motivated by challenges

Ray Anderson didn't have to say Arizona State is his dream destination or that his new job as ASU Vice President for Athletics is "not a steppingstone to anywhere else." Those are, after all, the kind of statements that boomerang back in a few years when there's an elite opening such as those that have lured away three ASU athletic directors since 2000, most recently Steve Patterson to Texas in early November.
