Japanese phenom Masahiro Tanaka will not be an Arizona Diamondback. On Wednesday, according to several reports, the 25-year old from Japan's Rakuten Eagles signed a seven-year, $155 million deal with the New York Yankees. The deal, first reported by Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, includes a player opt-out after the fourth year, setting up Tanaka for another big payday at age 29. The extent of the Diamondbacks' offer is unknown. Down the stretch, the Diamondbacks had been thought strong suitors for Tanaka, who had to sign with an MLB club by Friday to be able to play in the 2014 season.
