In many ways, an NFL season passes quickly. It doesn't matter if you're a fantasy team owner, a fan, a coach or a player, there is a routine to each week. You concentrate so much on that week's game that when you look up, you can't believe 16 weeks have passed. But when gauged another way -- by major story lines -- it seems this season started three years ago.
