Arizona State on Wednesday announced it has promoted Mike Norvell to deputy head coach, an effort that is expected to keep the promising offensive coordinator in Tempe next season and maybe longer. Over his two years at ASU, Norvell has established himself as one of the rising young coaches in college football. Word has gotten out. According to reports, Norvell, 32, recently interviewed for the head coaching job at Arkansas State. Last year, Auburn had interest in hiring him as an offensive coordinator.
