When the Cardinals drafted Tyrann Mathieu during the third round of the NFL draft in April, they didn't expect him to start at free safety as a rookie. What they did expect, however, is that Mathieu would play nickel cornerback. Mathieu filled that job in the first minicamp and excelled at it for most of the season.
