Ex-QB Jeff Godfrey glad he stayed at Central Florida

With Central Florida playing in its first-ever BCS bowl game Wednesday, Knights wide receiver Jeff Godfrey is glad he decided not to transfer two seasons ago. But the prospect of BCS success isn't what drew him back to UCF. He began his college career as a quarterback, leading the Knights to 10 victories as a freshman in 2010. But he struggled in 2011, sharing time with current signal caller Blake Bortles, as UCF finished a disappointing 5-7.

12-4 might be needed for Arizona Cardinals to make playoffs in NFC

The quickest way to wipe a smile off a Cardinals player's face is to ask him if finishing 10-6 is good enough to cut it in the NFC West anymore. Carson Palmer's expression turned dead serious when the question was posed to him. Ditto with nose tackle Dan Williams, same with right tackle Eric Winston and everyone else that was asked as they cleaned out their lockers.
